How do insulin syringe units convert to cc?
1 cc = 1 mL, so on a U-100 syringe 100 units = 1 cc and 1 unit = 0.01 cc. 10 units = 0.1 cc, 30 units = 0.3 cc and 50 units = 0.5 cc. On U-40, 1 unit = 0.025 cc.
The math
cc = mL cc = U-100 units ÷ 100 cc = U-40 units ÷ 40
| U-100 units | cc (mL) |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.01 |
| 5 | 0.05 |
| 10 | 0.1 |
| 25 | 0.25 |
| 30 | 0.3 |
| 50 | 0.5 |
| 100 | 1 |

Concentration = 5 mg ÷ 2 mL = 2.5 mg/mL Volume = 250 mcg ÷ 2500 mcg/mL = 0.1 mL Units = 0.1 mL × 100 (U-100) = 10 units
